MUAWWAZAAT
Muawwazaat are the last three chapters of the Noble Qur’aan which Nabis used to seek the protection of Alla (S.W.T) – Surah Ikhlaas, Suratul Falaq and Suratun Naas.
Regarding Surah Ikhlaas, Rasulullah (S.A.W) said, ”It is equivalent in reward to a third of The Noble Qur’aan.”(MUSLIM)
A Sahaabi asked Rasulallah (S.A.W),”O Rasulallah! I have great love for this Surah (Surah Ikhlaas). Rasulullah (S.A.W) said, “The love for this Surah will enter you into paradise.” (TIRMIZI)
Rasulullah (S.A.W) said,”Do you know that certain verses were revealed to me this night, the like of which were never seen before? They are Surah al Falaq and Surah an Naas. (MUSLIM)
Abu Saeed Khudrid narrates that The Messenger of Allah (R.A) used to seek refuge from Jinn and the evil of the human eye until Surah al Falaq and Surah an Naas were revealed. When these two Surahs were revealed, He started reciting them and stopped reciting anything else. (TIRMIZI)
Aaisha (R.A) reports that when The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) went to His bed every night, He would join His palms together and blow in them reciting Surah Ikhlaas, Surah Al Falaq and Surah An Naas. Hes would then pass His hands over as much of His body that He could. Hes would commence passing His hands over His head and face, then the front of His body. Hes would do this three times. (BUKHARI AND MUSLIM)
Abdullah Bin Khubayb (R.A) narrated,” The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said to me, “Recite Surah Ikhlaas, Surah al Falaq and Surah An Naas three times in the morning and evening and they will protect you from everything.” (ABU DAWUD AND TIRMIZI)
Muawwazaat is a great Sunnah of Nabi (S.A.W). In the times of trials and tribulations, holding firm onto one Sunnah will earn one the reward of a martyr.
